Weight Loss Challenge Retrospective Week 8-9

The time just flies and we reached yet another milestone. This time it’s weight loss challenge retrospective week 8-9. I have already mentioned about my cardio results last time and there are changes. They are pretty small, but we are getting there.

Good News

As we noticed last time, my weight stayed stationary. Although I could feel the belt getting looser, it didn’t reflect in the spreadsheet. The two weeks later, I lost another 0.7 kg of fat. That’s not an outstanding result, but I didn’t use any supplements for this. The changes I implemented were cardio exercises once a week on Sunday and a change in my diet plan, where I removed 25 grams of rice in the evening. This helped me to decrease the calorie intake and increase the burning of it. But you can go so far with this without starting to deteriorate.

Weight Week 8-9

The body is a smart mechanism and it helps you survive. It does work with you instead of against you. Although some people think it’s opposite. It stores calories for you, so you wouldn’t starve to death. It makes you tired, so you wouldn’t exhaust too much. Work with it and it will reward you.

Bad News

The bad news is that I had two cheat days in the last two weeks. That’s nothing major if you are not preparing for the Olympics, but not the best when you are trying to lose weight. And it’s not that I chose to have these days, but as you know, life is not the straight path and you have to make some sacrifices along the way. Nevertheless, cheat days will not make you regain your weight. That’s the secret no one told you about. As long as you have one cheat day a week – it’s OK. You will not gain weight that week, but you are more than likely not gonna lose any too. It wasn’t true in my case, cuz I still managed to lose 0.7kg, but it’s mainstream.

The shock my body received from the calorie shower managed to trick my body that it’s going to get such celebrations all the time – hence the weight loss. Do not make it a regime, cuz the body is so good at adapting (although slow), that you will stop losing any weight at all. It becomes the lifestyle and here we are not looking at the lifestyle, not till we reach the bottom line. If you plan to maintain your weight, that’s one of the methods to do so.

What is a cheat day?

The cheat day is when you allow yourself to eat anything as much as you like. It can be anything. One kilogram of cake – sure, 3 kilograms of bacon – you’re welcome, the whole box of chocolate cookies – have it all, you’d prefer doughnuts – have a bit of everything, doesn’t matter. No fat gains anyway.

The problem is when this becomes the norm and all the other restrictions loosen. Don’t forget that calorie intake is completely dependent on how much energy you spend over the days. Stop exercising, stop keeping the diet regime and this lifestyle doesn’t work. It has to work together, or it won’t work.

There is another way of lifestyle and it is eating healthy food every day, but not staying that strict. It’s possible and some people prefer this lifestyle. But it won’t work until you reached your bottom line too.

Conclusion

So here you have my weight loss challenge week retrospective 8-9. The choices we make will affect the outcome of this, but no matter what we do, let’s keep the records. This will help us to establish what went wrong and what needs fixing. Here you can see my body frame pictures from the previous two weeks.
